Flourtown Country Club (FCC) proudly announces the hiring of seasoned golf professional Ed Riordan whose decades of experience are sure to be a real asset to the club.
Most recently, Riordan was a certified golf instructor at Golftec, providing over 2,000 individual lessons to clients of all ages and abilities.
“I am thrilled to share my love of golf with all of the Flourtown Country Club members,” says Riordan. “It was immediately evident what a close-knit community this is. I look forward to being a part of the family.”
Riordan, a Massachusetts native, played competitive golf in the Massachusetts Amateur and the Massachusetts Open. He went on to win the club championship at New Seabury Country Club three years in a row. Then, he moved to Ohio.
Following his dreams, he played in the Ohio Amateur and the Cincinnati Amateur.
And, finally, he took roots in the city of brotherly love where he also competed in the Philadelphia Amateur and the Pennsylvania Open many years in a row.
FCC General Manager Brian Halligan, who is also a PGA golf professional, is thrilled to have Riordan on board.
“We have experienced a huge increase in demand for private and group lessons. Riordan has exceptional skills and will be a great fit with our members.”
Together, Halligan and Riordan are designing an all new junior program for juniors of all abilities. It will launch this season. The club also offers fun group events like glow golf.
“I’m looking to expand on our retail offerings in the golf shop too. There really is a lot of exciting momentum right now,” says Riordan.
“My passion for golf dates back to the ’60s. I look forward to using all of my previous experience to make a new home at Flourtown,” says Riordan.
